For 50 years, Synthetic Surfaces Inc. has been a world leader in supplying one-part, solvent-based, high “green strength” (grab), moisture-cured urethane NORDOT® Adhesives to the synthetic turf, recreational and aquatic industries.
Norris Legue, the chemist who founded SSI in 1973, made the first successful one-part urethane adhesive to glue down a synthetic turf football field in the 1960s. In developing his superior outdoor adhesives, many critical factors were considered: extreme cold; intense heat; surface warming and cooling; arid to humid environments; unexpected rain; wind; etc.
From his extensive research, Norris concluded that the best adhesives for outdoor turf should be one-part solvent-based, with high “green strength” (grab) during installation and after cure. Oppositely, solvent-free, water-based and hot melt adhesives can have severe limitations when used outdoors.
There are several NORDOT® Adhesives with slightly different handling properties, but the same results after cure: tenacious grip, outstanding water-resistance and long-term durability in all climates.
The NORDOT® Adhesives brand has become recognized worldwide as the “Gold Standard” by which all other turf adhesives are measured.
NORDOT® Adhesive #34S-3(Plus) is a one-part, solvent-based curing urethane for installing synthetic turf for field hockey, football, soccer, baseball, playground surfaces and more. It airless sprays like a "spider web" so porous surfaces remain porous, and is also noted for its high "green strength", superior water-resistance and outstanding long-term external durability.
